Ubisoft has come up with a twenty-first-century sarcophagus, inspired from the most famous mummy of all time, King Tutankhamun.
When was the last time you have seen a sarcophagus in relation with gaming? We wonder whether you would have, until now. But Ubisoft is taking a step ahead in that direction by marking the launch of its latest game with a sarcophagus. Well, why shouldn’t they?
The sarcophagus comes in connection with Ubisoft’s latest launch, the Assassin’s Creed Origins. With the game set in Egypt, it takes us to an ancient Egyp to unravel the stories that marked the origin of the Brotherhood. So it makes proper sense to mark the launch with a sarcophagus- one from the twenty-first century.
The sarcophagus created by Ubisoft isn’t something that had required enormous labor. That’s because this modern sarcophagus is a 3D-printed one created using data-mapping imagery from the game. The 3D model was created by a team of experienced 3D printing consultants at Hobs Studio and was later CNC machined from wood. The finer details were crafted using SLA 3D printing.
It’s also adorned with fine details like hieroglyphics, including the standard ancient Egyptian one as well as some of the modern ones developed for Origins. The entire product measures six feet high and is based on the most famous mummy of all time, King Tutankhamun.
It’s indeed a brilliant work of art, and sadly, there won’t be a mass production of it. As with the retro-fittings to line up with the gaming world, the sarcophagus is also mounted with a TV screen and an Xbox One console on it. Well, that’s one stupendous way to get engulfed in the ancient Egypt with Origins.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is arriving today on consoles and PCs. The game is garnering huge applause via early reviews, some of which has also labeled the title to be the best after Black Flag, which was released in 2013. Personally, Black Flag to me was the best since Assassin’s Creed 2, which beyond any doubt remains the best from the world of Assassin’s Creed. So expectations are big. We will get back to you with game tips once we get to uncover those.
