Blacklight: Retribution on Steam for Soft Cash

By on July 3, 2012

First the stooping, then the qwerty nosedive; it happens to me often when I play games for hours (hours not like what the extreme gamers do) particularly those generic multiplayer shooter ones, having the classic stuff like, sprinting, shooting foes, sprinting again, scoping, dying, spawning and then again and again.

I didn’t mean that standard multiplayer shooters are not fun any more, but hey, I spend trillions of hours in lot of MMOFPS games and have done all the squeezing from the customization to level upgrades and it is now getting really sick. Don’t mind, may be I should take a break and save some time into more complex games (or go get some sunshine!).

But if any of you readers are big MMOFPS fan and don’t care about running with your team or alone for some random matches, then you can bravely look for Zombie Studios F2P (Free to Play) Blacklight Retribution. Yeah, I know what some of you people are going to ask.

The game came out live earlier this year (exactly on April 3), so why the hell do we need to care about this now? Well, here’s the deal.

It has now been added to Steam (one of the most popular digital distribution site), and you only just need to click over the game’s page and there you are, much simpler than the usual download process. Not only that, the game is pure fun.

It’s similar to Call of Duty. The game is visually great looking unlike other the dusty F2Ps.

The game mechanics feels great and there are lots of customization options to choose from. We can buy upgrades for weapons or characters using in-game currency like the other MMOs’.

Called GP in Blacklight Retribution, the in-game currency earning is damn slow process, and probably requires tons of hours to make an amount to purchase any of your favorite gears. So you can do it with ZEN, the cross game currency system implemented by the Publishers, Perfect World, which needs real money.

It will unlock enough points for a cheap price. Overall, it’s a game that we saw before but it’s nice to see it in a different world and it has finely executed a standard competitive gameplay with matches that we have played in other games like Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill.

Those who check out in Steam might do good to look at the starter pack which is now half the price. The Pack will grand 3000 GP, a seven-day XP boost, two armor pieces, two equipment gear,  two guns and two gun mods, all for $9.99 USD.

  1. If you are going to play Blacklight: Retribution then I can tell you that you don’t need to buy anything. The default loadout is fairly balance and if you play constantly and have fun playing you’ll eventually get enough GP to buy items permanently.
