Dishonored Gameplay Trailer is Gore Enough

By on June 1, 2012

I had mentioned why Arkane Studios’ latest Stealth Action, open-world, first person adventure, Dishonored, looks similar to some of the modern classics like Half Life 2 and Bioshock. Its developers had already told us that the game is based on modified Unreal Engine 3 (the very same graphic engine that rendered Bioshock) and that they had done some of the design works in Bioshock 2.

Viktor Antonov, Half-Life 2’s art director, is behind Dishonored and that explains the steampunk city, the foes and the vehicles bearing some resemblance with the Combine (Half Life’s Major enemy foe). Gametrailers has released the first gameplay trailer for the game as part of the upcoming E3 2012 event.

As detailed in our previous stories, Dishonored is set in a fictional city of Dunwall, the place that is now under the clutches of a tremendous Plague and the city is itself suffering from the military forces of the despotic government. Our hero was once the bodyguard of the empress of the city but some sinister plot took him responsible for her murder and that made him an assassin under the mysterious mask.

Duel wielded weapons and super abilities are at his disposal to deal a situation. The game will give you your choice in taking an objective.

And the outcomes will reflect your choice of gameplay. Game’s lead designers, Harvey Smith and Raf Colantonio, said that the game works more like a simulation than scripted sequences.

Dated for October 9, 2012, Dishonored will become available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Publishers, Bethesda, will be showing more Dishonored details during this E3.
