Gears of War 4: New Patch Adds Penalty for Quitters, Maps and More

The latest patch for Gears of War 4 will be adding two new maps, Gear Pack Season 2 content with new cards, and penalties for quitters

A new patch for Gears of War 4 is arriving today, and Microsoft has released the complete patch note ahead of its arrival. Accordingly, the latest patch for the game will be adding two new undetailed maps, Gear Pack Season 2 content with new cards, and penalties for quitters.

The Series 2 content will be made available to craft starting 10 AM today (January 10). However, it won’t be instantly available in the Gear Packs. Coalition says that it will take a few more hours after the update goes live to make the cards available in the pool. The developers have also asked players to be patient until the confirmation for the same comes out.

As for the newly added penalties, Coalition says that its new penalty will cover Core and Competitive game mode. Players quitting from these game modes will receive a suspension from all matchmaking for a limited time. Coalition says that the move is the first among the series of updates it will be introducing to tackle down quitting from Core/ Competitive.

Coalition makes it clear that duration of suspension will be longer for those who exit more. Players will receive five minutes to re-join if getting exited due to connection drop. Players won’t receive the suspension if they are able to rejoin and complete the match.

Respawn times will also now get displayed on Player Cards. Player Cards will be taking up less space. The update also new mapping for specific face buttons for specific camera modes.
