Gears of War 4 Update Adds Final Two Maps Along with Xbox One X Support

Gears of War 4 players will be able to download the latest update to the game that includes Halloween event and new maps starting today.

Gears of War 4 is falling to the moods of Halloween. Starting today, i.e. from October 23, players will be able to enjoy new update that brings with it a Halloween event and two new maps alongside adding support for Xbox One X console.

The two new maps will be the final set of maps to arrive for Gears of War 4, and those are Lift Apex and Fuel Depot, both of which are making the return. The Lift map returns in an Apex version with re-imagined designs, but barely affecting the mechanics involved in moving lifts and expanding territory.

Players will gain access to Power Weapons and Frags immediately upon spawning. Set in the Imulsion Extraction Facility amidst the Serano Ocean, the map offers a faster and more tactical experience than the original, according to the developer The Coalition.

Fuel Depot, the other map, also comes enhanced and offers larger gameplay area than the one in Gears of War and Gears of War 2. It will offer more flanking opportunities for the players out in the open. There will be plenty of places for players to take cover in the warehouse in addition to the small windows through which they can take shots at enemies.

Both the maps will be available for Season Pass holders from October 23, and it will be followed by its entry to Public Matchmaking on October 30. The former will also gain Double XP and 20% Bonus Credits, alongside marking the end of Developer Playlists with Double XP and 20% Bonus Credits. A new bonus will be introduced instead, called the ‘Map Owned’ bonus, in the coming months. This will offer a permanent increase in XP and Credit for all maps downloaded and played in Public Versus or Horde.

The Halloween event in Gears of War 4 will commence on October 27, adding new characters, weapon skins, and some ‘spooky-themed events’. It will be followed by the month-long celebration of 11th Anniversary of Gears of War. So expect a lot in the coming days.
