By on August 9, 2012

Ouya Kickstarter has finally reached a shining conclusion. Starting on a journey with their goal set for $950k, the project has closed with grand funding of $8,596,475.

The project went live on July 10th and closed its gates last night with funding from 63,416 backers. Moreover, Kickstarter has disclosed some of the details regarding the backing; 12 backers pledged a total of $10,000 or more and four backers gave $5,000 or above.

226 people pledged between $1,337-$4,999 and 600 people pledged over $699. 2,500 people have reportedly backed with $225+, while 7,755 people have pledged $140, and 46,124 pledged between $99 and $139, giving the project their most successful bracket.

From the remaining, $1,170 folks poured in $10-$24, while 1,898 pledged $25-$94 and a thousand backers coughed up $95-$98, which earned them their free consoles that were given away for the minimum bracket.

Ouya bags three Kickstarter records with the highest amount pledged, the fastest campaign to reach $1m (in a record time of 8 hours and 22 minutes!) and the most amount of money raised in a single day- $3.2m.

The Android-based console is already sparking off high expectations and it needs to be seen whether the DRM-free console will mark a milestone in the gaming history. Ouya is expected to hit markets next year in March.
