Persona 5 has crossed the milestone of 1.5 million unit shipment globally since its arrival in North America and Europe this week
Persona 5, the much-talked Atlus RPG from Atlus and P Studio has shipped over 1.5 million copies according to the figure released by the publishers today.
The game, which is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles, was initially released in Japan during September 2016. It later got expanded to Europe and North American continents earlier this week. The Western expansion had played a key role in vamping up the sales figures.
A comparison of the shipment figures with the previous games in the series is yet to be brought under light. The exact shipment figures are also yet to be revealed by Atlus. The last time Atlus has revealed the figures of Persona 5 was during two weeks since the release of the game in Japan. During that time, the figures hovered around 550,ooo units.
It has to be kept in mind that these are still the shipment figures, and not the exact number of copies sold across the globe. But that doesn’t take away anything from the success of the game, which has been garnering rave reviews since its arrival. The game also marks the twentieth anniversary for the Persona game franchise.
