Arkane Studios’ Prey to Adopt Gameplay Elements from Dishonored 2

Bethesda’s Pete Hines confirms that Arkane Studios’ Prey will share gameplay similarities with their previous FPS, Dishonored 2

Upcoming game Prey will reunite Bethesda with Arkane Studios. This very fact is more than enough to keep the players engrossed and engulfed in anticipation. That’s because the previous tie-up between the two was for Dishonored 2, which has managed to create a unique fan base. And maybe, the duo are carrying some goodies from their previous success story.

Speaking to Xbox: The Official Magazine, Bethesda’s Pete Hines has disclosed some relevant tidbits about the title developed by Arkane Studios. The confirmation is that Prey will have many gameplay elements adopted from Dishonored 2.

That should pretty much take the gameplay of Prey close to that of Dishonored 2.  And that’s by involving elements that will encourage player exploration. Decision making will also be playing a key role like it did in Dishonored 2 did.

‘At its core it’s still immersive, first-person, systems-based, non-scripted stuff that encourages player exploration and making choices,’ reveals Hein to OXM.

That said, Prey won’t make you feel like it’s a mere re-skinned version of Dishonored 2 either. It’s also not for bad that the developers are sharing gameplay similarities with its two games.

Dishonored 2’s testing of players’ decision making was quite good actually. So carrying them forward is a good move. Besides, there’s also assurance from Arkane Studios that it won’t reiterate the performance issues that affected Dishonored 2 with its upcoming FPS.

Prey will come out at some point later this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
