The full NPD September report is yet to be out, but Nintendo has revealed that Switch has retained the top console spot for the third consecutive month.
Nintendo has announced that Switch had retained the best-selling console title for the month of September in the NPD charts. It follows a two-month span of Switch being in the top spot, making it third in a row for Nintendo’s micro-hybrid console.
Overall, Switch had been the top-selling console in the NPD charts for five times since launch, missing out on just one occasion. Apart from that, Nintendo has also revealed that the total sales of Switch had crossed the 2 million mark in the US alone. Those figures are sure to soar in the coming days, with the holidays inbound.
The revelation comes ahead of full NPD September report, which is expected to be published soon. Nintendo also accounted to two-thirds of total console sales in September, thanks to combined work of Switch, 3DS, and the Super NES Classic Edition.
As with the software charts, Nintendo has revealed that Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was at the seventh place, with Metroid: Samus Returns falling one place short of the former. At number ten is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which had fallen five spots down from the previous month.
